Key Characteristics

At Fellowship It's Personal

When asked by a scribe to comment on the greatest commandment Jesus replied by stating that success is always personal, we are to love God and love others (Matt. 22:37-40). The quality of our lives is determined by the quality of our relationships. At Fellowship Bible Church we want to be a transformative environment where people are helped to grow their relationships. We long to see each person connect with God and others in a dynamic, meaningful manner.

In order to do this we have defined eight metrics or gauges that we can use to test the quality of our relationships. Every ministry is strategically designed to develop believers who are:

  • socially responsible
  • financially generous
  • biblically informed
  • morally pure
  • evangelistically intentional
  • family oriented
  • church invested
  • prayerfully diligent

Fellowship Is Outward Focused

As a church we are committed to our city and the world beyond. Our primary purpose is not only to have people attend worship services; we want to send them out into their communities where they can be a powerful influence for the kingdom of God. To do this we wish to follow the example set for us by Jesus Christ, who engaged towns with acts of healing and words of hope. We see a good balance in His ministry of both truth and proof. Our message of salvation is more likely to germinate in an atmosphere where our love for the community is proven by our deeds.

Fellowship Is a Team Based Church

Unlike most churches, Fellowship does not follow the CEO model of leadership. Instead of having a senior pastor, there is a team of pastors who work together to fulfill the needs of the church. This structure allows each member of the team to utilize his gifts to the fullest; as a result, the team compliments one another. Teams are also found in other areas of ministry. From the Leadership Team to Fellowship Kids, there is an emphasis on partnering people together to accomplish God's task.

Fellowship Is Structured Around Small Groups

As our church continues to grow, we remain committed to small groups as the optimal environment for life change to occur. Our Community Group ministry fulfills this role by providing a context to experience caring relationships, biblical truth, and accountability. It is in these groups that individuals and couples are most connected to the life of Fellowship. These groups typically meet every other week in different people's homes.
