Urban Mentoring / Tutoring Team

Here at Fellowship, we believe in joining others when they are doing excellent work! Our Urban Mentoring/Tutoring Team is a great example of that. We currently have three partners in the community that we plug our folks into to serve as mentors and tutors for kids who are at-risk for a number of difficult issues. Each partner has a slightly different approach, and varying schedules, so fill out the form if you are interested in serving in this way, and we can find out which partner would be the best fit for you. Although the urban Mentoring/Tutoring Team is off-campus and doesn't happen on Sundays, we understand that it is a weekly commitment, that's why it's one of our core, weekly Ministry Teams.
J-Crib
J-Crib is a mentoring/tutoring program at Evangelical Community Church (ECC) that has had excellent leadership and great success! With extensive training, and ongoing education about what it means to do life with other families rather than doing things for them, J-Crib is set up to facilitate relationships between one student and one adult on a weekly basis, including tutoring, but also time away from ECC having fun with the student and your family.
Skyline Church
Our friends at Skyline Church have worked hard with the leaders of J-Crib to develop their own after-school tutoring program. Working together with J-Crib to offer one-on-one turing/mentoring to more kids in our community, Skyline has a program with a slightly different schedule that still involves a weekly commitment, and pairing you with one student for as long as you serve in the program.
The HUB Club
Our partners at Area Relief Ministries have The HUB Club based out of their property in the Hillcrest neighborhood of East Jackson. Operating both an after-school tutoring program as well as a summer camp program to keep kids occupied and off the streets, there are numerous ways to be involved as a tutor or mentor as well as helping with special block parties, 5k runs, and other events for the neighborhood and children of the neighborhood. With the same excellence that you're used to in the Room in the Inn program, the HUB Club comes from the same folks and includes the same excellence.
